    First WHAT IS EUTHYROX AND WHAT IT IS USED
    Levothyroxine, the active ingredient in Euthyrox, is a synthetic thyroid hormone intended for
    treatment of diseases and disorders of the thyroid gland. It has the same effect as naturally
    occurring thyroid hormones.
    Euthyrox is used for:
    - Treatment of benign goitre (benign enlargement of the thyroid gland) in patients with normal
    thyroid gland,

    - For prevention of recurrence of goiter after strumectomy,
    - As replacement therapy when the thyroid gland does not produce enough of their hormones,
    - To suppress tumor growth in patients with thyroid cancer.
    Euthyrox is used to induce equilibrium levels of thyroid hormones when their
    excessive production treated with drugs inhibiting their formation.
    Euthyrox 100 micrograms, 150 micrograms and Euthyrox Euthyrox 200 can also be used
    for testing the function of your thyroid gland.
    Second WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE
    EUTHYROX USE
    Do not take Euthyrox
    If you have any of the following:
    - Allergic (hypersensitivity) to the active substance or to any other ingredients Euthyrox
    (See Section 6)
    - Untreated adrenal dysfunction, pituitary or excessive production of thyroid hormones
    (Hyperthyroidism),
    - Acute heart disease (myocardial infarction or inflammation of the heart).
    Do not take Euthyrox with drugs inhibiting thyroid hormone
    (Thyrostatic) if you are pregnant (see Pregnancy and lactation below).
    Take special care with Euthyrox is needed if you have some
    of the following heart disease:
    - Insufficient blood flow in heart vessels (angina pectoris),
    - Heart failure,
    - Rapid and irregular heart rhythm
    - High blood pressure,
    - Fatty deposits in your arteries (atherosclerosis).
    These diseases must be prior to treatment with Euthyrox or before
    thyroid suppression test under medical supervision. During treatment with Euthyrox
    you need to have regular check thyroid hormone levels. If you are not sure / s,
    if you have any of these conditions applies whether or not treated / and contact your doctor.
    Your doctor will check you have malfunctioning adrenal or pituitary malfunction or
    thyroid uncontrolled excessive production of thyroid hormones (thyroid autonomy
    gland), since this condition must be medically checked before taking
    Euthyrox or before the thyroid suppression test.

    Tell your doctor if
    - You are in menopause or after menopause, your doctor may perform control functions of your
    Thyroid regularly due to the risk of osteoporosis,
    - You will be transferred to / from one drug to another containing levothyroxine. The effect can be slightly
    different and may need closer monitoring and dose adjustment.
    Taking other medicines
    Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medications because Euthyrox může
    influence their effect:
    - Antidiabetic agents (medicines for lowering blood sugar):
    Euthyrox can reduce the effectiveness of your antidiabetic agents, and may therefore be necessary to further
    control your blood sugar levels, especially at the beginning of treatment with Euthyrox. At
    use of Euthyrox may require dose adjustments of your antidiabetic.
    - Coumarin anticoagulants (drugs used to prevent blood clotting)
    Euthyrox can amplify the effect of these drugs, which may increase the risk of bleeding, especially in
    older people. They need regular checks of blood clotting parameters at the beginning and
    during treatment with Euthyrox. When taking Euthyrox adjustment may be required
    coumarin dose of the drug.
    Make sure you follow the recommended dosage intervals, if necessary
    use any of the following:
    - Medicines used to bind bile acids and to reduce high cholesterol (such as
    cholestyramine or colestipol): make sure you take Euthyrox 4-5 hours before
    using these medications because they can block the uptake of Euthyrox from the small intestine,
    - Antacids (for relief from stomach acidity), sucralfate (to treat stomach ulcers or
    intestine), other medications containing aluminum, iron, calcium carbonate:
    Make sure you take Euthyrox two hours before taking these drugs because they can
    reduce the effect of Euthyrox.
    Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines because they may reduce
    effect of Euthyrox:
    - Propylthiouracil (a drug to treat an overactive thyroid gland),
    - Glucocorticoids (medicines used to treat allergies and inflammation),
    - Beta-blockers (blood pressure lowering medicines and treatments for heart disease),
    - Sertraline (a medicine to treat depression)
    - Chloroquine and proguanil (medicine to prevent or treat malaria),
    - Drugs activating some liver enzymes, such as barbiturates (sedatives, sleeping pill), or
    carbamazepine (used to treat epilepsy, which is also used to treat some types of pain and
    for the control of mood disorders),

    - Medicines containing estrogen used in hormone replacement therapy and after menopause or
    for preventing pregnancy,
    - Sevelamer (phosphate-binding drug that is used to treat patients with chronic renal failure
    kidney),
    - Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory drugs).
    Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines because they may increase
    effect of Euthyrox:
    - Salicylates (drugs used to relieve pain and reduce fever)
    - Dikumarol (medicine to prevent blood clotting)
    - Furosemide in high doses of 250 mg (diuretic)
    - Clofibrate (a drug for reducing blood fats),
    - Phenytoin (a medicine to treat epilepsy).
    Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines as they may affect
    effect of Euthyrox:
    - Ritonavir, indinavir, lopinavir (protease inhibitors, which are medicines to treat HIV infection),
    You may need to conduct periodic checks of thyroid hormones. Adjustment may be necessary
    dose of Euthyrox.
    Tell your doctor if you are taking amiodarone (a medicine used to treat irregular
    heart beat), because this drug can affect the function and activity of your thyroid gland.
    If necessary diagnostic test or image with a contrast agent containing
    iodine, tell your doctor that you take Euthyrox, it may be necessary to administer injections,
    which affect the function of your thyroid gland.
    Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have started / and use additional
    medicines, including those bought without a prescription.
    Thyroid hormones are not suitable for weight reduction. The use of thyroid hormones
    gland does not reduce your weight, if the level of thyroid hormones in normal
    range. There may be serious or even life-threatening side effects if
    increase the dose without consulting your doctor.
    Taking Euthyrox with food and drink
    Tell your doctor if you eat soy products, especially if you change the quantity that
    consume. Soy products may reduce the uptake of gut Euthyrox,
    may therefore be necessary dose adjustment Euthyrox.

    Pregnancy and lactation
    If you are pregnant, continue taking Euthyrox. Tell your doctor
    it may be necessary to adjust the dose.
    If you take Euthyrox with thyrostatic to treat excessive thyroid hormone
    gland, your doctor may recommend that you have stopped treatment with Euthyrox if
    become pregnant.
    If you are breastfeeding, continue taking Euthyrox by your doctor. Number
    drug that is excreted in breast milk is so small that affect a child.
    Driving and using machines
    Studies on the effects on ability to drive or operate machines have been performed.
    The product Euthyrox affect ability to drive and use machines because
    identical to the naturally occurring thyroid hormone.
    Important information about some of the ingredients Euthyrox
    Tell your doctor if you have an intolerance to some sugars, because Euthyrox
    contains lactose.
    Third HOW TO USE USE EUTHYROX
    Always take Euthyrox exactly as directed by your doctor. If you are not sure / s,
    Check with your doctor or pharmacist.
    Your doctor will determine your dose based on individual tests and also by laboratory
    tests. Generally, you start treatment with low dose and increase every 2-4 weeks until the
    full individual doses. During the initial weeks of treatment, you will visit a doctor for
    laboratory tests, according to which the dose is adjusted.
